Property Transactions for International Clients

At Hoban Boino, we have extensive experience working with international clients in relation to property matters. We work with individuals and businesses who require legal advice in relation to buying, selling or renting property in Ireland.

Working with You

We understand that buying or selling a property is one of the most important financial transactions that most people will make in their lifetime and this can be particularly daunting for clients who are not resident in Ireland. We appreciate that this can be both an exciting and a stressful time when you are based abroad and you need to have complete confidence in those who are working on your behalf. Our team have a wealth of experience acting for non-resident clients in both residential and commercial property transactions and work closely with each and every client to ensure that the process runs as efficiently as possible.

We communicate with our clients at every stage of the transaction and keep them informed of how the process is progressing. Each property transaction is different and there can be unexpected delays but our expert team will keep you up to date and ensure that the sale completes as soon as possible while ensuring that all legal formalities are complied with.

Expert Advice

Our team are highly experienced dealing with residential and commercial conveyancing for international clients and regardless of where you are based, our priority is to ensure that the transaction runs as efficiently as possible. While our primary job is to ensure that all legal formalities are complied with, we understand the importance of communicating with clients particularly when they are not living in Ireland and always take the time to explain the process and keep clients informed as the transaction progresses.

How Can We Help

In Ireland, the legal process of conveyancing begins as soon as the purchase price has been agreed between the parties. Normally at this stage the estate agent will send a sales advice note to the solicitor for both the vendor and the purchaser who will then take instructions and begin working on your behalf.

As your appointed conveyancing solicitors, we will take care of the following;

  • Prepare and review contracts, title documentation and planning permission.
  • Raise/deal with enquires in relation to the title.
  • Where a mortgage is required, liaise with the bank or lending institution on your behalf.
  • Prepare all documentation for signing – can be arranged via video call when appropriate.
  • Organise exchange of contracts.
  • Once the purchase has completed, we will arrange payment of stamp duty.
  • We will register the title in the Property Registration Authority of Ireland – this is a compulsory requirement.
